There are times when our engagement driven world can feel like a constant competition. A hot seat that never seems to cool off. In the heat of the frustration those thoughts can cause, I was given a refreshing glass of ice water in the form of a conversation with Matt Hunt. After immediately connecting over our shared love of Dean Martin and the crooners of the Rat Pack era, the conversation naturally moved to the legwork our team has put in to build the Manner brand. As it did, one thing became abundantly clear: Matt loves to celebrate others. His inquisitive nature and disposition proved that he was not simply interested in hearing the details of our process, but wanted to champion our passion with some of his own. As an entrepreneur and part owner of a successful joint venture, the stereotype would suggest Matt to have a self centered aura about him. That couldn’t have been further from accurate in this case. He even took the time to prepare (and I’m not exaggerating here) one of the best Italian meals I can put to memory featuring the Fratelli Piccata sauce you will find in your Manner box this month. Having a servant leader mentality and celebrating others are two defining characteristics of a Manner Man, and Matt exudes those qualities in a way that makes us proud to have his product at the heart of our debut box.
